Central Bureau of Investigation team is probing financial fraud investigated RG Kar Medical College and Hospital morgue. In the complaint lodged by former Deputy Superintendent of RG Tax, Akhtar Ali, former principal Sandeep Ghosh has also been accused of being involved in selling unclaimed dead bodies and biomedical waste.

Anchor:- According to sources in the central agency, the team questioned the hospital officials about the functioning of the protection of the dead bodies, the process of post-mortem and the functioning of the cool chamber, which keeps the dead bodies.

The CBI is probing allegations of benefiting a special group of vendors in running cafeterias, canteens and restaurants in the hospital premises and paying an increased bill.

Let us tell you that in the complaint lodged by former Deputy Superintendent of RG Car Akhtar Ali, former principal Sandeep Ghosh has also been accused of being involved in the sale of unclaimed dead bodies and biomedical wastes.

The CBI source said that all the allegations related to financial fraud can be checked and verified through tender papers, work orders and billing related documents.

According to sources, "However, this allegation of sale of biomedical waste is very serious and it will need to keep a close watch on the place where the bodies have been kept and also need to keep an eye on those who have been entrusted with the task of handling the dead bodies inside the mortuary."

Let us tell you that according to Ali's complaint, there are major allegations against Ghosh and others that they were illegally awarding contracts to vendors of their choice without following the government protocol, nepotism in the selection of vendors, instead of including PWD for civil and electrical functions. Was including the third party, misusing the Covid funds for the modernization of private offices and also using it in the gym as well as illegal sale of "used dangerous biomedical waste" through its close staff. Along with this, Ghosh has also been accused of charging illegal parking fee on Ghosh.

According to sources, CBI has so far raided a total of 22 places across the city in connection with the financial irregularities in the hospital. When the team reached Sandeep Ghosh's house, after 75 minutes the door of the house was opened and the team had to wait till then. When the door was opened so late, doubts were raised that Ghosh was trying to contact someone or was trying to destroy the evidence.
